For over five years, Rayna had been a constant source of support for the BUYONE BUILDONE team. Every time they came to Guatemala to build homes for those in need, she faithfully cooked meals and fed the crew, welcoming them with warmth and generosity. Her dedication never wavered, even though she herself was living in a small, rundown home without enough space for her family.
Tragedy struck when Rayna’s daughter and son-in-law were killed in a car accident, leaving her to care for her grandchildren. Despite her loving heart, her home simply wasn’t suitable to provide the space and comfort they needed. When the BUYONE BUILDONE team heard about her devastating loss and her challenging situation, they knew they had to give back to the woman who had always been there for them.
Another unique part of this project is that many from the Brush Arbor crew joined the BUYONE BUILDONE team to help build Rayna a new home. This trip was particularly meaningful as it brought together many people united by compassion and a desire to help. Together, they created a safe and comfortable home for Rayna and her grandchildren, giving her the space and security she had always given others.
